How to Order and Postal Charges 1. Web Orders Payment for web orders using the Shopping Cart is made through PayPal but you do not need a PayPal account. PayPal takes you through the secure online payment process, using payment by credit or debit card, e-cheque or PayPal account. You will receive an e-mailed PayPal receipt, detailing the total payment and the order.
If you wish to pay by card online but are unsure of the process - click here.
Please note that an e-cheque takes 7-9 working days to clear. The other payment methods do not require clearance and are usually almost instantaneous.
2. Orders by post If you wish to order by cheque, please note that this should be drawn on a UK-based bank and enquire for further details via the Contact Form. Cheques will only be accepted on the understanding that the goods will not be despatched until the cheque clears (usually about 7 days).
3. Postage Postage and packing is £4.95 per order for orders up to and including £50 in the UK and Europe. (This is about Euros 5.85 per order for postage, depending on Paypal daily exchange rates).
Postage is free for orders over £50 in value (not including postage) in the UK and Europe. Make your order up to over £50 in value to save on the cost of postage!
Delivery charges for the rest of World (that is, outside UK and Europe) We ship orders to all countries in the world and currently we have customers in about 50 countries. However, with increased cost of freight and postage, especially outside Europe, we need to charge our post & packing costs.
If you are ordering from the USA, Australia or from any country outside Europe, then please contact us either via the Contact Form or by email to info@woad.org.uk for a quotation. We will then send you a Paypal invoice that can be paid by credit card, debit card or Paypal. If at this point you do not wish to proceed with your order, we will refund your payment in full.
4. Fulfilment and Delivery times On receipt of your cleared payment, your order will be packed and then sent directly to you by the UK’s Royal Mail postal service.
Delivery is by the Royal Mail’s First Class post in the UK and by the Royal Mail's international letter or packet services for overseas customers. This is essentially a Monday to Friday business hours service and therefore consignment at a post office usually takes place on the working day (Monday to Friday) following receipt of payment. There is no service on public holidays.
Note that order fulfilment is from the UK and therefore delivery times are greater to addresses abroad than they are within the UK. The Royal Mail states that it aims to deliver in the UK within 1-2 days but in our experience delivery may take 2-3 days longer and the Post Office will only accept complaints of non-delivery 11 working days after posting.
The Royal Mail’s suggested delivery aim for Europe is 3 working days and for the USA and the rest of the world is 5 working days (i.e. not including weekends and public holidays). However, the same caveats around actual practice and the same rules regarding complaints of non-delivery apply. In our experience delivery may take two weeks or more in some countries.
We therefore suggest that you wait at least 1 week before advising of any non-delivery to a UK address and at least 2 weeks for an overseas order. Most orders are delivered very rapidly and efficiently but occasional delays in delivery occur due to problems in the postal services!
